Siri comes to iOS 7 with new voices, new look and new features
iPhone Siri, like the rest of the operating system, has been updated with a new interface again based on the idea of a semi-transparent background under which blurs whatever was on the screen. Siri now has an oscillatory line, which incidentally can also see on the screen of a car with the new iOS in the Car and shows our big question. The voices have been updated also to a much more natural and human, to put it in some way, but speaking users will have to continue listening to the previous voice for a while because right now the new interpretations are only available in English, French and German. iPhone Siri also gains new abilities, like the ability to search in Twitter or on Wikipedia. You can also control iTunes Radio, only if you’re in the U.S. of course, and also improved its response speed. The launch of iPhone Siri with iOS 5 in October 2011 was as eventful as that of the Apple Maps a year later and although the personal assistant apple learned quite a few new tricks in iOS 6, seems to be running iOS 7, where finally reach the maturity required to claim a greater role in our daily life. The next version of mobile operating system, Apple will not only give a much needed facelift to the interface of its popular voice assistant, but will also feature a number of interesting improvements between today we will look at two: their new natural voices (male and female versions) and theability to learn how to correctly pronounce a name in case of error. Starting with the new voices, these are initially available only in English, French and German but considering that OS X already have the excellent voices of Diego and Monica anticipate that the other languages should not take too long to get the same treatment. Concerned voices sound pretty good although the jokes that Siri itself is not ready to participate in the American Idol program (one day adventure to dream). Do not believe me? Forward video … The function itself will come from the first time our country is to learn to pronounce correctly the complicated names (or not so). Siri now invites us to teach you how to pronounce a certain name in case you find problems to understand, and we can always correct when saying something wrong style “That’s not how it is pronounced [name]“. In my tests I found that at least in Spanish is not always easy to cause this response from Siri, although more direct order as “Speak [name]” does work smoothly. We look to see how Siri continues to evolve during the betas until the final release of iOS 7 after summer. One of the coolest features of Apple’s iPhone is Siri, a built-in digital assistant. Ask it anything and you will be guaranteed an informative response to your question. Here are some of the coolest things you can ask Siri: Eating Out Ask Siri to recommend a restaurant and you’ll not only be told which restaurants are nearby, but will also be asked what food you are in the mood for.Siri will organize results according to your tastes, and can even book a table there and then. Appointment Scheduling Siri can offer alternative times and dates if there are clashes in your calendar. It can read your calendar to you, letting you know what meetings you have today. Reminders Forgetting anything is a thing of the past with Siri. It uses the iOS 5 reminder app to automatically create reminders for almost anything. Need drycleaning picked up? Flowers for your mother? Siri has it sorted. It can even remind you with audio. E-mail In a hurry? Tell Siri you need to send an e-mail and you’ll be able to send and dictate one on the go. Weather Ask Siri for the weather and you’ll automatically get a 5-day forecast for your area. That’s pretty cool, but ask if it will be hot or cold tomorrow and Siri will tell you bring sunglasses or a sweater in a friendly, conversational style. Directions You’ll never get lost with Siri. Ask Siri and you’ll get a Google Map with directions to your destination, in addition to alternate routes. iCloud Siri can sync almost anything to iCloud, letting you access contacts, for instance, on your iPad or Macbook. Stocks Siri can get any stock quote and let you know how it’s doing. Contacts Siri knows all your contacts, even by their first name, and you can ask it to give any info you need. Delete Alarms Say “delete all alarms” and Siri will clear all your alarms, letting you sleep in. Speak Symbols Siri can speak a range of symbols, from percent and dollar signs to caret and copyright signs. The best video on how to use iPhone Siri on iOS 7.
